What’s interesting I could talk about…

Uh…. Spring is here! No, that’s not going to do. How about I hung out with Jon Bon Jovi! That’s about all I got for that story. I got backstage passes to the Slayer concert! Evil! Speaking of, I did an interview with Evel with the Jackass crew for my biography film we are kinda’ making. Here was the sign that he wrote on the door of his RV. Pure Evel… Oh, the Gumball Rally DVD is coming out and I told them I’d plug it. It was a wild trip; three continents in turbo racecars, flying the cars on 747’s from one continent to the next, traveling over 3000 miles and completing the race in a few days. Seriously serious! I met up with them in Vegas and did a demo on Tony’s portable ramp with the Hawk crew… Oh yeah, I talked about that in my May 06 journal. Man, I’m striking out. Nate Wessel had a baby last week (dreads not included) on his birthday! Hell of a present. Congrats Nate! Welcome to your first year of sleep daze.

Oh yeah, Travis Pastrana had some craziness go down last week at his house for his new video. He invited me to come and play, but I couldn’t make myself drive to the airport, but he gave me a short rundown of the ridiculousness that he instigated -

“That's ok bud, next time you're in though! The hill was big but we just couldn't get the speed to launch as far as I would have liked. It was only about a twenty-foot step up. Steep, but much bigger than an average comp set up. I chickened out on my second flip on a double flip and twisted sideways, landed on my but and popped a rib out. It sucks because I was done from then on and had to watch all day today, which was much better. We set up a pit bike race then a 50' gap to a mulch pile with trees that lined the sides of the jump. Two guys hit trees mid air and fell fifteen feet, but were fine. A pit bike jumping that far is less than pretty even when it lands right! One guy that had never flipped anything before, and flipped a 450cc quad and rode out of it! Good times. See you next time.”

Thanks Travis!

What else is going on? Here’s some news! I’ve been asked to be the host of the 20th year reunion of the epic 1987 Skyway tour. 1987 is the year of tours that started the wave that has now become a revolution of BMX’ers, who weren’t even born then, ruling the planet…. Here’s a little slide show from 20 years ago.

Speaking of old School I’m ordering a new batch of those Trilogy DVD’s that had Headfirst, Aggroman and Ride On! all on one DVD! I also hid the oldest classic Roman video, Aggro Riding and Kung Fu Fighting on this DVD for the ones who are hardcore enough to search and find it. I noticed some kids on www.vintagebmx.com who had no idea who Aggroman was. I’m going to leave it at this: Learn who taught your teachers ‘to go STREET RIDING!’ Should be available in a couple weeks. Sidewall will stock ‘em. Ask you shop for them. Tell them to call this # 405.528.4130.

I got my annual “Happy Birthday to the 900” e-mail on March 25th from John Morgado at Ryder Distribution in Canada. Thanks John. The 900 is older this year then I was when I pulled it. John was one of the first kids that jumped on me afterwards. Check it: My first 900 - March 25th 1989.

OK. I believe that is going to be it this Monday. Next Monday I’ll put a behind the scenes Jackass slide show together because I was going through some old photos writing this and it may scar you, but definitely will make you laugh.
